On the occasion of India’s 80th Independence Day, Yuva Vikash Kendra organised its annual programme, “Ek Sham Shaheedo Ke Naam,” at Dasarath Deb Memorial Auditorium, Agartala, as a humble tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of our nation.

The programme was graced by Hon’ble Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad, Shri Biswajit Shil, as the Chief Guest. Shri Subrata Chakraborty, Hon’ble Vice-Chairman of the State-Level Cultural Advisory Committee, Government of Tripura, was present as the Inaugurator.

The programme was also attended by Shri Sebak Bhattacharjee, Vice-Chairman of YVK; Advocate Sandeep Dutta Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman of YVK; Shri Debashis Majumder, President; Smt. Panchali Debbarma, Vice-President; and Shri Pinku Das, Organising Secretary, along with distinguished guests, well-wishers and members of the organisation.

A deeply emotional moment of the programme was the felicitation of four martyr families. Smt. Dipali Sarkar, mother of Shaheed Sudip Sarkar of the 169 Battalion, BSF; Smt. Biplobi Chakraborty, wife of Shaheed Shishir Chakraborty, BSF; Smt. Archana Debbarma, wife of Shaheed James Debbarma of the 23rd Battalion, Assam Rifles; and Smt. Kalpana Debbarma, wife of Shaheed Mangal Debbarma of the 18th Battalion, Assam Rifles, were honoured with the deepest respect and gratitude.

The presence of these families reminded everyone that behind every brave soldier stands a family that silently carries the pain of an irreplaceable loss. Their courage, strength and sacrifice deserve our eternal respect. We can never repay their contribution to the nation, but we can always remember them with gratitude and honour.

The programme concluded with inspiring patriotic cultural performances by children representing more than 40 organisations from across Agartala. Through their performances, the young participants expressed their love for the nation and paid a heartfelt tribute to our brave soldiers.

At Yuva Vikash Kendra, we believe that remembering our martyrs is not merely an annual tradition—it is our responsibility, our gratitude and our commitment to the values for which they gave their lives.

𝐘𝐮𝐯𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 (𝐘𝐕𝐊), jointly with 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐚 𝐘𝐮𝐯𝐚𝐤 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐓𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐁), successfully organized a 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 at Sukanta Academy Auditorium, Agartala, under the global theme:

“𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.

The programme brought together youth, students, educational institutions, civil society organizations, environmental enthusiasts, and cultural groups from across Tripura to promote environmental awareness and collective action for a sustainable future.

The event was graced by Shri Animesh Debbarma, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Forest, Science & Technology and Environment Department, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest, along with distinguished dignitaries Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, Vice-Chancellor, Techno India University, Tripura; Dr. Bishu Karmakar, Member Secretary, Tripura State Pollution Control Board; Shri Anjan Sengupta, Joint Director, Department of Biotechnology; Adv. Sandip Datta Chowdhury, Vice Chairman, Yuva Vikash Kendra; Debashis Majumder, President, YVK; and Pinku Das, Organizing Secretary, YVK; Panchali Debbarma, Vice President of YVK and other academia, government departments, and civil society organizations.

An insightful awareness session highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and the critical role of youth in addressing climate challenges. Experts emphasized the need for collective responsibility and community participation in protecting our planet.

A major attraction of the programme was the vibrant cultural segment, where participants from nearly 33 organizations presented songs, dances, dramas, and creative performances carrying strong messages on environmental protection and sustainable living.

The dignitaries appreciated the joint efforts of Yuva Vikash Kendra, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, and the Tripura State Pollution Control Board in creating a unique platform that combines awareness, education, culture, and youth engagement for environmental action.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young people as champions of environmental stewardship and building a greener, cleaner, and climate-resilient future for generations to come.

For the last 10 years, Yuva Vikash Kendra has been at the forefront of celebrating World Environment Day, using culture and community to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect our planet.

This year, we are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, New Delhi, and the Tripura State Pollution Control Board, Government of Tripura, to host a special event dedicated to environmental education and action on 12th June 2025 at Nazrul Kalakshetra, Agartala

Through dance, music, and drama, this event will bring to life the pressing issues of pollution, climate change, and conservation in a way that connects deeply with the public—especially the youth. These performances are not just artistic—they are powerful stories that inspire reflection and responsibility.

Over the years, our goal has remained constant: to make people not only aware of environmental issues but also motivated to act—starting with small, everyday changes that lead to lasting impact.

We invite all citizens, especially students, educators, and youth leaders, to join us in this grand celebration of nature and community. Let’s raise our voices together—for clean air, safe water, green spaces, and a healthy future.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of a 3‑Day Mushroom Cultivation Training Programme for Women Farmers of Assam, which started on 2nd July 2025 at Kekeni Kuchi Village, Kampur District.

A group of 25 local women have enthusiastically joined this training, aimed at equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to boost their livelihood and build a more sustainable future for themselves and their families.

This initiative is being implemented by Yuva Vikash Kendra with the generous support of Finolex Industries Limited its CSR Partner Mukul Madhav Foundation.

With this training, the women participants will gain practical tools to diversifying income sources, build economic resilience, and uplift community livelihoods.

On 31st July 2025, Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK), in collaboration with the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), Government of Tripura, organized a Tree Plantation and Environmental Awareness Programme at Janmajoy Nagar HS School, Belbari, West Tripura, under the inspiring theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.

The event was graced by Shri Abhijit Das (Information Officer, TSPCB), Ms. Antara Chaudhury (IT Officer, TSPCB), Shri Debasish Debbarma (Sub Zonal Chairman, TTAADC), Shri Subal Chandra Das (Headmaster of the host school), Shri Debashis Majumder (President, YVK), Shri Pinku Das (Organizing Secretary, YVK), and Smt. Pratima Debbarma (Secretary, YVK).

The programme began with a discussion highlighting the importance of environmental protection, the role of youth, and the objective of celebrating Environment Day. Following this, a tree plantation drive was conducted on the school premises, where saplings of fruit-bearing trees like Red Apple Beer, Mango, Lichi, and Amloki were planted. The active participation of students, teachers, and guests created a vibrant and hopeful atmosphere.

The event successfully encouraged a collective commitment toward greener and healthier surroundings.
