Every year on World Environment Day (June 5), Yuva Vikash Kendra (YVK) transforms this global observance into a vibrant convention of eco-conscious action across rural Tripura. Since 2016, this Gandhian Youth-Led Organization has mobilized students, farmers, and villagers-uniting school and college communities with grassroots populations— to spearhead initiatives aimed at reversing environmental decline and nurturing sustainable practices.

Driven by young changemakers

Uniting schools, farmers and villagers

For a greener, healthier future

Building resilience in rural communities
In collaboration with Government and Non Government Organization like NABARD, Tripura Bio-Diversity Board, Tripura State Pollution Control Board and local schools, hundreds of fruit and herbal saplings are planted, safeguarded with protective iron cages, and accompanied by awareness sessions encouraging long-term stewardship.
Tailored for students and villagers, these sessions highlight the dangers of plastic pollution and empower communities to reduce single-use plastics and embrace eco-friendlier alternatives.
YVK advocates for efficient water usage and community engagement to preserve this precious resource for present and future generations.
Hands-on activities like nurturing native plants ensure that environment protection becomes both educational and deeply personal for participants.
These celebrations foster a sustainable mindset that echoes far beyond June 5: young volunteers become changemakers in their schoos and communities, villagers embrace self-reliance and eco stewardship, and the cumulative impact strengthens local resilience to environmental challenges.
From planting saplings to reducing plastic usage and conserving water, YVK’s ongoing commitment radiates hope and action as it continues nurturing Mother Earth, year after year.
Committed to People. Committed to Nature.
