𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 & 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚

𝐘𝐮𝐯𝐚 𝐕𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 (𝐘𝐕𝐊), jointly with 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐰𝐚 𝐘𝐮𝐯𝐚𝐤 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚, 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐓𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐁), successfully organized a 𝐌𝐞𝐠𝐚 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026 at Sukanta Academy Auditorium, Agartala, under the global theme:


“𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞. 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞.


The programme brought together youth, students, educational institutions, civil society organizations, environmental enthusiasts, and cultural groups from across Tripura to promote environmental awareness and collective action for a sustainable future.


The event was graced by Shri Animesh Debbarma, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Forest, Science & Technology and Environment Department, Government of Tripura, as the Chief Guest, along with distinguished dignitaries Prof. (Dr.) Ratan Kumar Saha, Vice-Chancellor, Techno India University, Tripura; Dr. Bishu Karmakar, Member Secretary, Tripura State Pollution Control Board; Shri Anjan Sengupta, Joint Director, Department of Biotechnology; Adv. Sandip Datta Chowdhury, Vice Chairman, Yuva Vikash Kendra; Debashis Majumder, President, YVK; and Pinku Das, Organizing Secretary, YVK; Panchali Debbarma, Vice President of YVK and other academia, government departments, and civil society organizations.


An insightful awareness session highlighted the importance of environmental conservation, climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and the critical role of youth in addressing climate challenges. Experts emphasized the need for collective responsibility and community participation in protecting our planet.


A major attraction of the programme was the vibrant cultural segment, where participants from nearly 33 organizations presented songs, dances, dramas, and creative performances carrying strong messages on environmental protection and sustainable living.


The dignitaries appreciated the joint efforts of Yuva Vikash Kendra, Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, and the Tripura State Pollution Control Board in creating a unique platform that combines awareness, education, culture, and youth engagement for environmental action.


Together, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering young people as champions of environmental stewardship and building a greener, cleaner, and climate-resilient future for generations to come.
